The Wonderfully Epic Saga of Alysson

Greetings and salutations. I recently rediscovered this site, and I wonder how long it will take for somebody to notice this post. If you are reading this post, text me. I'll feel really good about myself.

Well, summer was kinda a long time away. I spent it working at dearest old Lorin Farr Swimming pool, checking chemicals, training lifeguards, and playing pranks on them when nobody was looking :) Then I came back to school. This semester has been a whirlwind of wonderfulness! I love my ward, I love my roommates, I love my apartment, I love swim team... this year made me realize how much I love school. I love it and cannot wait to spend the rest of my life teaching Deaf kiddies!

Ok that was boring.... you still awake? if not... wake up! its very rude to fall asleep when reading a person's blog post! Besides, I'm about to share stories!

Once upon a time Aly found her calling in life... a grandma! Aly has spent her whole life up to this point developing grandma-like talents to pass on to her future posterity. Namely, Aly has recently begun to sell knitted hats with an... unusual flair. For the mere price of $20, Aly can knit a dead fish, a monster, or a shark. more cool hats to come! currently Aly is working on knitting herself a wig, because on Dec 28, Aly is going to donate her hair to locks of love! If you ever want a good laugh, I highly recommend checking out this website for some rules of Locks of Love: http://www.locksoflove.org/donate.html I am so tempted to cut off my hair and send it in......... in 7 years or so :) anyway, back to me being a grandma, I also planning on learning how to crotchet rugs... fear not if you have never heard of this, its a grandma thing to do :P I am pretty sure the youngest person alive today that completes this craft is 97 1/2. But I will become the world's youngest grandma! it will be awesome! and I will have a really cool rug! After I complete a crotcheted rug, I am going to make myself even older and try something called "broomstick weaving" again, I am pretty sure this originated with the pioneers. But, it makes for a pretty sweet rug! My house will be so cute and old lady like! :)

So that's me.... I still love water and sign language and yarn. and meat. mmmmmmmm.

Michaela: an Update

Over the summer I took an intro level Stats class online, and then I worked at a summer camp. I LOVE my experience as a camp counsellor! I would love to have the opportunity to work there again! This year I'm registered for 15 credits, I'm in Honors, I'm a Service Learning Scholar, I'm involved in Institute Choir and I made the USU Beginning Ballroom Team. I also work at the on campus Care and Education Center working with toddlers and infants. I'm having a lot of fun so far, and even though I've been, and will continue to get ridiculously crazy busy, I'm SUPER excited for this semester. I'm still majoring in Environmental Studies, but instead of an outdoor education emphasis, I'm working on designing an emphasis in Youth Programs. I'm also looking into a post-bachlorette education program to receive teaching credentials. I hope to study abroad sometime in the near future, but I really don't have any solid plans as to when. I'm still waiting for Elder Nathan Wise, and am unintentionally counting down the days until his scheduled return. (In case you're wondering, he has 2 days shy of 13 months left since he's scheduled to return Oct 3, 2012, but he'll've been out 1 year on Sept 29.) I've had a lot of fun this weekend spending time with my family including some extended family that I haven't seen in just over a year because they live in Vegas right now. I definitely ended up with great roommates and classes, so I'm looking forward to an amazing year, and I hope that spending time with you guys is in those plans!

UPDATES!

Hey Girls :)
So, as Michaela said, we are pretty much the only followers. lol So, I have an idea. A lot has happened and will be changing in each of our lives. I propose that each of us try to take a week and post an update on our lives. I know we are all SUPER busy, and some of us don't have good internet ;) but lets try yeah? I just want to keep in contact with y'all, cuz you each mean SO very much to me :)

Here, I'll go first!
Well as you know I worked at the ranch this summer. It changed my life. I learned to be less caring about little things and more fun. hahaha I also FINALLY decided on a real major and I am sticking to it. This is Family and Consumer Sciences. I want to be a Youth Center Director with it, and write grants/ make programs that help all ages of youth be better. I am taking tons of classes this year and am still planning on going on a mission soon. (one year and one month!) I am enjoying school and just having fun! I live in Wasatch, so come by and play sometime :) I miss you all and all our fun times!! Let's have a reunion soon :)

Farewell 315

Dear Rommies,
Since I know the 5 of us are really the only ones following our blog, I just wanted to say how amazing I think each of you are. I I don't know if I'm really good at showing it, but I really have appreciated the year we've had together. We've had our laughs, our tears, fights, joys pains and sorrows, and I just hope you all know how wonderful you are and how much you've really made the experience of my first year of college. Please keep in touch! I want to hear about boyfriends, jobs, scholarships, mission calls, weddings, you know...the important things. And feel free to call or text anytime you want! I know you'll each go on to accomplish great things!
Aly: let me know what the next promotion ends up being in your jump up the ladder at LF. Also, give me a call if you need someone delirious to hang out with.
Sam: you're beautiful, and don't let anyone else tell you otherwise! Keep smiling! And if you need someone to rant to, you're welcome to call me (not that you won't already have Aly, but still) also, I'd love to know any other D*** P*** stories if you discover any.
Kelsey: Keep me informed on your concerts! I'd love to continue to support you and attend. Also let me know if there are any other D*** P***/stupid tree stories. Oh, and let me know when you become a famous Opera singer! I'd love to come to some of your shows!
Tasha: stay amazing!! Thanks for trying to help me with my missionary schedule and with roommate prayer... Sorry I kinda failed! It's been great to get to know you and your sense of humor!

So to all, I again want to thank you for everything you've done for me! Good luck with life, and just give me a call if you ever want to talk, reminisce clean the sink, or whatever! I expect/hope to know about your future successes!!

Love ya all!!
<3 /Michaela

An update on Life and Adventures

You know those times where you sit and think to yourself "how the heck did I end up here?" I am pretty sure those happen a lot in our apartment. You see, when you take five very outspoken, very fun girls and you put them in a small living space with only a TV for entertainment, you are bound to get some crazy results. As i look back over the year and all the things we have done I smile. I smile because no matter how annoyed we can each get at each other, or how stinky the trash is, or even  how loud the country music is playing we will always have those times. We will always remember when we learned to "fly" on the mattress and couch cushions in the hallway. We will always remember when we baked rice krispies, made cookies, or ate brownies. We will always remember when we locked someone in the bathroom door by switching the knob. We will remember the giant blanket forts, the water-pong parties, and the whip-your-hair-back-and-forth contest. These times will always be there as times of fun, but even more than the fun we'll remember the caring, the love and the friendship. We'll remember when one was sad we were all sad, or when one was happy we were all happy. We'll remember how we helped each other through our first year of college and grew together as a family. We will remember each other. :)

seeing your life flash before your eyes

Once upon a time, there were two roommates that were bored out of their freaking skulls, while a third one was asleep soundly in her bed. Sam and Aly, the two bored ones, got a genius idea to go rock climbing! Being the heartless cads that they were, they did not wake Tasha up to join them. So Tasha remained asleep. *note: Tasha had a good nap and was grateful not to be woken up.
Sam and Aly headed off towards the rock haus in Aly's beautiful car named Betty. Once arriving to the rock haus, Sam and Aly had a quick crash course on boleing and climbing. They seemed to be catching on pretty well, so they were set free to climb to their hearts desires.
Aly had been rock climbing before, so Sam told Aly to climb first. Putting all of her trust into Sam, Aly climbed up the wall with great care.
We will now have a short intermission as Aly climbs the wall.

Aly reached the top of the wall, and yelled down to Sam that she was ready to go! Aly thought that Sam had her back, so she leaned back and waited for the rope to catch her. Unfortunately, Aly was lied to, and she began to fall quickly to her death. A scream escaped Aly's lips: she thought her life was over! Luckily, Sam quickly solved her issues and saved Aly's life, minutes before she hit the ground!!! When Aly got to the bottom, she thanked her lucky stars that she was alive.
It was then Sam's turn to climb.
Sam scampered up the wall, much like a spider monkey, with some falls. Luckily for Sam, Aly does not hold grudges, so when Sam fell, Aly was a good Bole and stopped Sam from falling.

Aly and Sam soon realized that they were weaksauce and could not continue to climb any further. So, they decided to redbox a movie. They watched the movie RED with great joy without Tasha, because Tasha was not home. Sam and Aly did not care. *note: Sam and Aly may have cared a little, but for the sake of the story, there was no love shown towards Tasha.

After the movie, Sam and Aly hopped back into the Bettymobile, put on some tunes of the JB variety, and headed back to Walmart. Sam and Aly were looking good! Sam was wearing a snuggy and her hair was done much like a geisha, and Aly was in sweatpants that were covered in chalk.  Because Aly was a lazybones, she decided to kick Sam out of the car to return the movie, and Aly would drive around the parking lot to pick Sam back up. Sam hopped out of the car, just as the JB song reached it's climax. As Sam looked up, she saw 5 sexy men looking straight back at her. Holding back laughs, Sam returned the movie and returned to Betty. Sam and Aly then drove home, laughing about the incident, only slightly emotionally scarred for life.

Take a Stalk on the Wild Side

When you live with four other ladies, it is often difficult to get away, even for a date! Tonight, we proved this to be true. While Aly was out on the town and on a date, we began the approach.... As soon as they shut the door, we ran to the windows to case the vehicle. After identifying the vehicle in question we began our chase to the place where Aly had previously disclosed as the location for dinner. After arrival at said location we began to analyze the parking lot until we came upon the car. Thrilled to find out they were at the restaurant we began to devise the plan for the night! We left a mysterious love note on the front windshield and then left to do some shopping while they enjoyed their meal. After our short jaunt to the store, we returned. Glad to find that the car was still there, we parked and waited for her to appear from the restaurant. It was a thrilling, but long wait. Many videos were made, begging for her return. After finally seeing them come out, we waited for them to see the note and look around. It was quite an exciting time, until we realized they were in the car and traveling without having seen the note! Frustrated, and not knowing where they were going next, we followed in close pursuit. Hot on their tail we were excited to trail, that is until we hit a light they did not and were forced to guess our way around. Not seeing which way their car went, we continued to Aly's date's place of residence and hoped for a lucky break. We did indeed get that break, and soon the car pulled up. We watched to see which house they were going into and then went to get dinner and figure out our game plan. At Chick-Fil-A we received a delicious meal and a flower... this flower is not a normal part of the meal, but we decided that there was enough there, and they would not miss this one, so it was taken and placed into our care. After the flower had been acquired, we returned to the place where Aly was and left it on the doorstep with a note. We also left a note on the car, letting her know we had been aware of her the whole night. It was most enjoyable. We then sent her messages letting her know to go outside. She did and we received a phone call shortly letting us know it was received and that she was looking for us.  It was a very eventful night for us girls in 315. Aly went on a lovely date and enjoyed herself, and Sam and I put our private investigation and stalking skills to the test. There were many lessons learned tonight, they consist of not telling your roommates where your date is going to take you, make sure when you leave notes for someone make sure they are EXTRA visible, and most importantly, eat before you leave on a stake out... :)

the beginning

8 months ago we began. it started out with six. one down. four to go then I'll be free!
 serioiusly.
Aly: just plain wierd. She's an old lady who knits and yet listens to a sweet little 17 year old (J.B.)
Tasha: Pony lovin' freak who doesn't wear shoes.
Michaela: short legg-ed speed walker and ballroom dancer!
Kelsey: has the voice of an angel and can definitely pull off the homeless look ;P
Julia: is gone pursuing her life dreams

that is all i have to say.

This is aly. I am appalled at what sam has written about me, I can only assume this is jealousy. Maybe one day I will teach sam of my knitting skills, and in return, she can teach me her swift hip hop moves.

What should I say? Should I tell all the secrets, like Kelsey and her secret table dancing habit? Should I tell all the weird habits like Aly and her early bird bed time? How about all the random times like Sam and her monkey-like swinging? Or should I say something about the boys, and Michaela's secret art of wooing? Maybe I'll just talk about the amazingness that goes on behind closed doors. The friendships that are built, the fun times that are had, but most importantly the love that we share. Despite all our quirks and differences, we are meant to be together and we are who we are because of each other. I love these girls, and know they love me, they have to to put up with my pink pony, pirate zombie, trucker hat loving self :)
